'Vert Steering Wheel

I have a S5 'Vert steering wheel that I'd like to use on my S4 Coupe'

It of course, bolts right on, but it tries to take out the turn signal stalk when turning the wheel, quite a bit. Other than swapping in a 'Vert cluster surround and obtaining the steering column stalks...how can I use this? A friend of mine suggested some sort of washer (As a spacer), but I'm not sure if this would be the smartest idea?

Who's got an idea?

Your first idea of swapping clusters sound the best to me, and it will prolly look better than rigging anything anyways

There is more than just swapping steering wheels.

#1 If you have stalks, then it is an airbag wheel. Putting an 17+ year airbag wheel in a car without a SRS controller is just asking for problems. At very least, removed the explosive part of the wheel.

#2 The SRS equipped verts are wired considerably different than the coupes or even the other verts. The CPU is different, the dash harness is different, the cruise control is wired different, the headlight switch is wired different, the wiper switch is different and wired different.

#3 The stalks work different on a SRS equipped vert, than a normal car.

So you can bolt your SRS vert wheel in, but unless you rewire the whole dash, and above items, you won't get the wipers, turn signals, headlights, etc to work correctly.

There's the rub. I'd like to just somehow modify my surround somehow to avoid breaking my turn signal clean off when trying to make a turn.

There's absolutely no reason for the airbag to deploy if there's nothing controlling it, and no power going to it. I just want the wheel for the cosmetic appearance, and that's all. While the leather wrapped S4 GXL wheel is nice, this one is more meaty and feels better to me. It also looks nice.

Is it possible if I go and find the correct diameter washer that's pretty thick to use as a spacer and have no problems?
