Vert Door Lock Stuck

Vert Door Lock Stuck
I've got something going on with my 89 vert driver door that I haven't found in any searches. I'm on my way out the door to work and maybe I was too rushed and didn't take the time to look hard enough. If there are any links please post.
Here's what's going on. My driver side door gets stuck in the lock position. Once locked it doesn't matter if I use the key to try and unlock or reach from the passenger side and try unlocking the door using the driver side inner lock mechanism. Both the key and the inner lock move fine, the factory alarm even beeps to tell me it armed. If I get the door panel pulled back I can reach in and fiddle with the mechanism in the door well and I can get the door to come free. But next time I lock the door, it's back to stuck locked. I took the passenger door panel off to compare and the only thing that is broken is a little spring on the driver side mechanism. All the other parts move and turn just fine.
I think what happened is I put an aftermarket alarm in with a door actuator. My best guess is that the door actuator put too much strain on the lock mechanism and snapped that spring. Being the only thing that is different between passenger and driver side, I'm guessing that spring is what is keeping my door locked and me not able to open it. Can anyone tell me if my assumption is the right one about that spring?
On the plus side, me crawling in and out the window has me thinking of painting my car orange, getting some "01"s, a Rebel Flag, and making the first "ricer General Lee"

Just a heads up for anyone who runs into a similar problem. That broken spring I referenced seemed to be the entire problem. Last weekend I made it to a junkyard and pulled a door mechanism from one RX (86 for what it's worth). Then nabbed just a spring from a second RX....just to be safe and not have to make another trip.
I originally tried putting just the spring on my door mechanism while it was in the car. My hands were too big and my pliers too short and I couldn't wiggle the spring onto both mounting points. I ended up simply swapping out the full mechanism I picked up from the 86 and everything seems fine.
