VDI question

my vdi actuator is stuck shut and that big sleeve thingie hasnt moved in years. what would happen if i just unstuck it and wired it open? my 6pi works fine but i have some drop off in power over 6500rpms or so and i can feel the 5th and 6th ports opening (i cleaned them a couple weeks ago)

It is fine if you wire it open...but u lose some low end torque. I have a s4 car but will be getting a s5 intake soon and have been reading up on it a lot. One thing to think about though.....do you know if it is stuck open or stuck closed? If stuck closed then crank that baby open and wire her that way. If you are constantly ragging your 7 like me then you wont notice the low end power loss because you will always be hitting high rpms anyway.

This article doesn't apply too much to your case but it might help explain things a bit better when dealing with Variable dynamic intake.

Good luck man and post the butt dyno results because I am interested!

just clean it, wiring it open will kill low end power, why not do it the right way and have it work the way that gives u the most power across your powerband

becuase i dont have enough tools to take the whole upper intake off while i'm here at school. however i can get in there and have enough room to disconnect it and turn the sleeve.
