I use this (full synthetic, the blue liquid) on my FD in 20W50 during the summer temps and it's seems to work very well. If it works on a high(er) HP FD than I see no reason why it can't work well on an FC as well.

The one you linked is non-synthetic, here is the synthetic formula: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...questid=455997

I use 20W-50 VR-1 in both of my RX7s and 10W-30 in my Probe. Had it analyzed and it does have zinc-phosporus anti-wear additives in it that are missing from most oils today. Never had a problem with it. If you buy it in March every year at Autozone they have an unadvertised sale of almost 1/2 off. You just missed it.

I have used it so far aswell. Might switch to synthetic after I start pre-mixing.

VR1 is cheaper than Royal Purple because VR1 is just regular petroleum oil with some extra zinc/phosphorus in it. While zinc/phosphorus really helps out engines with a valvetrain, I'm not sure what good it is for a rotary engine. The downside of zinc/phosphorus is that it clogs up the catalytic converter faster. Therefore, in my own opinion, if you have a V8 RX-7 with no cats, then VR1 would be an excellent choice for non-synthetic engine oil. Personally, I just use regular Valvoline Premium in my V8 truck.

^That's good to know. We use VR1 in the case of FD owners who don't want to run synthetic. It's very good oil and I'm of the belief that the ZDDP helps combat the stationary gear/rotor gear shearing action.
