vacuum hose and OMP spider questions for NA

could someone please post how much vacuum hose (size, quantities, etc.) I need to replace them all on my '87 NA. can't find on web or in this forum.

Also:

--I believe the hoses from the oil metering pump to the "spider" are different, and I need to order them separately? Is that correct?

--how do you attach replacement silicon hoses (the small ones that weren't clamped originally). Just push 'em on? adhesive? those nylon clamp things?

thanks.

You need.....

12 to 15 feet of thick wall regular vaccuum tubing from your local autoparts store.

Take one hose with you and then take a nip off the end of a couple types from the store, and test fit on your car.

All the hoses are the same inside diameter.

Use a bit more length then before. (just a bit)

I replace all my vac hose once i remove one.

They never seal back right if they have signifigant age on them.

If you can freely rotate a vac. hose, its not right.
not sealed.

Just a WARNING. . .BE CAREFUL with the vac hoses on your solenoids. I broke 2 of mine when replacing the vac lines with some silicone ones. The nipples that the hoses slide onto broke off on two of them before I finally just quit. I'm going to just get a new solenoid rack, and then finish doing the hose job, so that I can replace any of them I break, as I use it as my daily driver right now. It still runs, but with minimal problems. My point is that the solenoid nipples that I broke were an ineivitable problem. They were so brittle that a slight twist on the old rubber hose to get it removed easily snapped them off. Same thing happened to some of my interior plastic trim (demister grills, etc.). Good luck.
