for vaccum leaks and idle problems....
Recently I was looking for a vaccum leak which ive had since I bought the car. I was inspecting the throttle body linkage, and notice the return springs looks very very worn and tweaked. The butterfly seemed to have a it of play with in and when i push it totally tightly shut, it stops surging. Im thinking that the throttle body needs to be rebuilt or replaced. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this....Also I was wondering how to bring the idle of my car down it is WAY high, around 1500-1800 rpms. Have tried turning idle screw on the side of the manifold all the way in and out, and have messed slightly with the lower idle screw....and ideas with the idle?

Sounds like the throttle shaft bushing is worn, causing an air leak. Replace it. Don't forget the little o-ring that's in there as well.
As for the screws, please put them back to where you started. Once you get your intake leak solved, you will need to go through the factory service manual and follow the procedure to reset the idle and throttle stop.
