vac question

could someone tell me what kind of negative effect having multiple Vac leaks could have on fuel economy and emissions? or whatever else you think it could mess up?

idle quality is the biggest issue, it won't affect gas mileage much but it will affect your emissions enough to fail it if the leaks are big enough causing your idle to be too high and also your HC and CO readings.

depends on the sizes of your leak. If it is a big leak (like what i had before while i was going on the freeway and my IC pipe silicone elbow popped out) it'll make your car stall right a way. if it is a small leak....
um bouncy idle,
smog like Karack said,
and correct me if i am wrong someone, the car would be running rich, since unmetered air is coming thru and there is more air than the maf reading.... so u'll be having the same amount of gas with additional air. so running rich is a possibility too.

yeah, i dont think i have huge vac leaks, just a lot of them, mice got in my engine bay at some point while the car was sitting for 4 months, now im running very rich, cant keep an idle hardly, or atleast a steady one if im lucky, if i rev it up it sounds like a bov as the revs drop... its an N/A btw...rev it up and let off the gas and theres a cssshhhhhhhh sound, and sometimes after i let of the gas the idle drops either to 500 or just stalls out completely.... so im hoping its just a vac leak, although i know its gonna be a pain in the *** to track them all down..
