I noticed that all of the replies to his thread are gone. Was that on purpose?
Threads in the archive are usually duplicates of the original. Sometimes they physically get moved there.

Really? I only knew about the one in the archive and iit had like three pages of comments. The other threads in archive seem to have their comments intact.
