CA v mount vs front mount intercooler

im at the stage of deciding which intercooler to with, i daily driving my fc at the moment, its a s5 tII with mild street port and microtech, does anyone has some numbers running stock turbo or hybrid at 11-13psi with v mount or intercooler? is it a huge difference? aside from the cost, keep in mind that i live in so cal where is always sunny, thanks.

You'll see less pressure drop with a vmount than with a front mount. Shorter piping better Throttle Response. Plus a front mount if it isn't hidden it's a major cop caller in so cal. But so is a vmount style vented hood.

I'm planning on cutting, bending down, and welding the metal on my stock aluminum t2 hood to make a vent for my vmount. Should hopefully look stock from the sides and front if your at the same height.

^just get a NA hood and hack it if you're going vmount.

Personally, I hate front mounts. Most people put them so far front that it blocks air flow to the radiator and causes over heating or really high oil/water temps.

I sandwiched my IC on front of the radiator where the ac condenser would be. It helps keep the air at a constant speed instead of stagnating in a huge gap between front mount and radiator.
The oil cooler isn't blocked at all in that style.

Vmounts are great too. It Forces the lazy to do ducting which most people don't.
It's usually shorter piping which is great and it does not obstruct the radiator. It just require more fab work than a front mount and space can be an issue. Those are the only down sides.

for cooling, go v-mount..
but you will need to do your homework on how to manipulate ariflow for it to work properly
