V-Mount Intercooler Kit for an FC S5 Turbo

Been trying to do some research on v-mounts for the FC and havn't come up with anything good.

It seems most people run FMIC's or SMIC's and call it a day while many many people on the FD forum who road race choose the V-Mount.

Is there some circumstance with the FC that pre-cludes running a Vmount? (havn't measured yet but is there some kind of space issue?)

I tried searching for the knightsport IC kit that i heard existed but no dice.

I'd like to get a pre-made kit that works if it'll save me time over making one myself so if someone can point me in the right direction that would be great.

I'm still planning the build right now, but will probably be looking to get setup with something adequate to cool a GT30 or GT32 (not sure about going as big as a GT35 yet...not sure how laggy they are).

Well, I'm not aware of any v-mount kits for the FC. Unless I'm mistaken (and I'm sure I'll be corrected if so) then oyu'll need to make one yourself.

Biggest problem when making one will be that in order to get a real "worthwhile" placement of the rad and intercooler - you'll need to chop out part of your rad support. NOthing super structural - just the bits that hold the rad at the OEM angle in order to angle the rad 90* to the OEM position.

Other then that the only other semi major snag comes in routing water pipes to the rad. Plus - you'll need to use an S4 or custom rad since the S5's neck will now dangle near the road. As well - an S4 water pump will be necessary since the lack of a filling point at the waterpump would make it impossible to fill the system through the (now lower then most of the engine) radiator.

Good luck

edit: oh, and a GT35R is not laggy in the slightest capacity. PM Jim Kutschke

well just by looking at it you can see that the pipes are more direct = less lag, and you are not going to be hindering the airflow to the oil cooler and radiator like you would with the FMIC.

Search for Iceblue (i think) and you'll find some nice V-mount setups. There are no Vmount Kits so you have to make your own.
