im considering saving some money for now, and using an N/A throttle body elbow,

has anyone used one for this type of application?

sleeperfc i know has used one

im looking to see if anyone else has used them with success.

i will be using 2.5" IC piping.

Theres nothing hard about it, you just gotta use a different oil fill tube..

Good place to source the required silicone adapter.

For the oil fill neck just cut the lower and upper pieces at an angle to clear the the intake and weld them together to form a tube that makes about a 30* bend.

I never liked using the N/A elbow, even with T-bolt clamps it would pop off.

I would also love to see some more pics or a little more detailed information on using the na elbow for a TII because I will be doing the same thing

yes... thats what happens when you put it on plastic..... However, if you put a small piece of pipe( like a ring) that is a lil bit smaller than the opening of the elbow, then you wont have the problem.... You can overtighten it like a bish....

isnt the N/A elbow like 3 1/14" ID?

i'll just have to figure out some kind of clamp figuration to be sure of it gripping to my 2.5" piping

do you have to take the WHOLE filler neck out? (even from the iron) because i was test fitting tonight, and it seems that you do... but that doesnt make any sense..... isnt it held in there really good?

We've run 20psi on the setup in the pic without issue. I now have three cars on the road using the plastic elbow without a problem with any of them.

As far as the oil fill neck we cut down a stock piece and weld up a new neck. The one in the pick isn't being used anymore. I'll sell it for $20 shipped.

No. Not sure what else you need. Bolt the plastic elbow to the throttle body and attach the intake pumbing. The oil fill neck is the only thing that needs to be addressed. The filler neck comes out rather easily. Using a hammer you can tap them out without problem.

now i gotta worry about the air sensor...

Good spot for the air sensor is the hole where the double throttle used to go.

That's not a good place for it. When the secondary throttles are closed there'll be no airflow over it.

The NA elbow can be drilled and tapped for the AIT sensor, or you could weld a boss to the IC pipe and drill and tap that.

drilling and tapping plastic? i love it....

but ya, thats what i figured i'd have to do..... when i had my turbo GTI, i welded a bung onto the IC pipe for the air temp sensor...

do you mean to put a metal ring between the plastic elbow and the coupler so the coupler is actually touching the metal ring instead of gripping the plastic??

no, i mean put a ring underneath the plastic, so that you can tighten it like if it was metal.
