Using the low fuel sender without factory harness

Hey bro's, been awhile. Hope all is well. Anyway, in this new box of shenanigans I've decided to build, I'm running a bare bones harness (no lights even at this point) and I want to know if I can use the factory low fuel sensor to illuminate a light on the dash? It'd be a buttload cheaper then an aftermarket fuel gauge and since none of OHM's translate anyway, a gauge wouldn't be that accurate. Just something to light up if the levels low would be cool. Thank you for looking

If I were able to run it, would I just connect a wire to it, route it to the dash, hook it up to an LED or whatever I have lying around and that would do the trick?

Yes.
The sender is just a ground so put power to the light and run the other leg to the sender.

You have helped me so many times Clokker. If you ever find yourself in the San Diego area, look me up. I owe you a drink or two.

Aw, thanks but I rarely drink.
I do have a red card though.
