Question Uses for opening in Trunk

In my vert, it looks like there is a space for a spare tire in the trunk (pic attached)....which of course is stored behind the seats...

Any ideas what other uses this area holds?? As well what I can use to seal the hole in the bottom.....

You are right! On a non 'vert, that is where the spare tire goes.

I store my premix and roadflares and stuff in it.

That's where you store your spare tire once you move it to build a sub enclosure behind the seats.
