Broken Spirit!

When you turn the key and the car doesn't start... definately turns me into a blubbering crybaby.

<sarcasim> I don't know what you guys are talking about. I have 140,000 miles on my 86 and it has never had any broken parts! </sarcasim>

The number one most broken interior part? Has to be the wiper switch. (Power Antenna, Logicon, CPU, Idiot cluster, head light switch come in close behind that.)

Everything. EVERYTHING you all have said (almost) wiper switch , logicon radio, wiper switch shift bushings RADIATOR FAN CLUTCH, OIL PUMP O RINGS, torn interior, Idiot lights, CPU, cold soddered points of all kinds, light switch, door handle... my goodness we must love our cars. If our cars were kids that had this many problems we would have kicked them out on the streets long ago

Gee, I'm sure glad that our FCs are more reliable than the FDs! I just don't know how I could handle any more reliability...

After a few weeks of ownership, I have an intermittent clock, though idiot lights *seem* to work. a sticky passenger power window when it's down low. a sunroof that, after much graphite spray, works without needing a nudge most of the time. the plastic around the idiot cluster has many cracks, the radio surround has a developing one. antenna mast has sort of had it, still works but grinds away. shifter bushings were dead and now fixed. and aside from occasionally constantly getting a low rpm hesitation, it's all good...

I bout my '87 Turbo II it had: No rear winshield wiper, broken centre console, no radio, the whole exhaust has to be replaced, ripped seats, a burn mark in the door, broke left front calliper, it likes to not start if it is not allowed to sit for like 10 minutes or more...but these things keep me busy fixing the car.

power window switches and the door handle are the worst things that break in 2nd gens.

there the most time consuming to fix.

Let's see....I don't really have that many problems.

Automatic top stopped working (I'll fix it one of these days)
Had a heater hose go (fixed that)
Wipers don't work on intermittent (not that I really need that anyway)
Small leaks at all four corners of top

That's about it for me...what's the logicon? For some reason that's not ringing a bell....

Nah, it just makes you realize how powerful a grip these cars can get on your soul...not to mention how willing we are to allow them to get that grip.

wish i could have chimed in earlier. I find the owner is the most broke after purchasing a used 2nd gen. Especially if you have 2 turboIIs!

what breaks?

yeah everything breaks on fc's...

bought the car 2 months ago and tell you what...all this are broken already:
1. POW-er antenna
2. leather shift boot torn apart already
3. damn wipers wont work when heavy rain comes!
4. crappy and leaking radiator, recently added a sealer.
5. back up lights wont work even if i put a new bulbs. dont ask why.
6. just tried to see if my A/C was working last week. guess what.. its not even turning on..
7. clutch slipping like crazy. im in fourth gear and when i try to push the gas halfway.. the thing just goes way past 5500 and comes back down..... hmmm.
9. Oh did i mention the sunroof. half of it is rusting on top, and it needs a constant bashing and pushing to get it to close!
10. ENGINE NEEDS A REBUILD SOON.
11. two bungs on the pan dripping oil, putting a puddle of it everywhere..

gosh!, is this car set to break all at once???
but still i insist in keeping the car. why... ITS A ROTARY!
