Just buy an RTEK and an old Palm from Pocketlogger. You can display/data log just about anything the stock ECU can.
If you get the 2.1, you can even tune it.

If you're really bored, they sell a bluetooth adapter now as well. NO visible wires then, only problem is that you need Android. I don't think you can emulate Palm on iPhone, but check Styletap's website for a solution.

If I was wanting to do some kind of piggyback I wouldn't **** around and I'd just go adaptronic. But this is a fun car mainly for my wedding and I don't even have the funds for an RTEK.
I'm just going to use my prosport gauges from my other 7 and mount them in the glove box. That way I can at least hear the warning buzzers or just pop that open to glance occasionally.
