Question USDM Vs. JDM 13bt2..

right now I got a 1st gen. I am looking to engine swaps. I ws thinking about adding a 13t2. I am not sure if there is a deffeance between the USDM and the JDM engines. It seems to me easyer to find a complete JDM engine with computer and wireing harness than it is to find a USDM one. I tryed the search and came up empty. Sooo if anyone can shead some light on this for me I would really appreciate it.

I am actively searching for a good or rebuildable t2 engine soo... if anyone has one it would be nice to let me know

they are the same other than minor emissions parts.

Exactly the same as far as HP and output

No, the same series are the same, however if you compare a S5 intercooler to a S4 one you would see the differences you mention.

It is much easier to finde a JDM I think. There is no differance from a JDM and USDM engin as ICEMARK said. However the wireing harness is reversd and requires ither pulling the UIM off and yanking it over and lengthening a few wires no biggy or unraveling it and doing the same. I bought a JDM b/c its easier to finde it intact with a harness and computer.

If you got time on your hands and not in a hurry ither motor will suit you fine since you will have adequit prep time with it.

What you saw was S4 vs. S5. It seems many of the S4/S5 differences are incorrectly assumed to be USDM vs. JDM. There are far more differences between S4 and S5 models than between US and Japanese models.
