Is there a way to change up the wiring on the american FCs to flip up the lights when the hibeams are engaged instead of just shining thru the ftps?

Anything's possible, but it would need some custom electronics. You can't swap in a Japanese headlight switch because it sits on the opposite side of the cluster. To mimic the Japanese models you'd have to intercept the headlight switch wiring with a circuit that raises the headlights when it sees a high-beam signal, keeps the headlights up for a few seconds after the last time you release the dimmer switch (allows for multiple flashing) and then lowers them. Not hard for someone who knows what they're doing.

For some reason my headlight switch doesn't actually do this. I suspect it's faulty. So that I had daytime flashers, I cut out the back of the J-spec marker lights so that they now work just like the FTP lenses you guys have.

I was wondering also. Did the intercooler say something different on the JSpec models?

Mine says Rotary Turbo with intercooler. But then again I've seen some others that say Turbo II

Cargo covers were a Mazda dealer installed/available "Finish Line" accesory for S4 models.

actually just a simple relay, capacitor and diode could make that happen.

Just "T" off the highbeam flasher in the turn signal switch, through the diode to the relay. Relay feeds ground to the headlight up circuit in the cleaner, cap accross the coil of the relay to delay the relay coil from closing for 2 seconds.

Rotary Turbo = Jspec
Turbo II = North American spec

I also bought some JDM fenders of a front clip and noticed the side markers pop out. I have never seen anyone with these.

that is the Mazda dealer installed strut bar, also found standard on the Infini models.

Yes the side markers lens is rounded. The light itself is the same only the lens is slightly different.
