upper rad hose - should it be stiff at normal operating temperture?

upper rad hose - should it be stiff at normal operating temperture?

I have new rebuilt, water pump, t-stat and hoses. with system bled properly, i notice upper hose to be stiff sometimes. is this somthing to worry about?

oh, and new rad too.

Yes, that means your coolant system is pressurized. Also, it means that would be a bad time to open your pressure cap

yeah but to have the upper rad hose stiffen up sometimes? do i have anything to worry about? or is this a common charcteristic of the cooling system?

it's good. it's a sign that shows your water pump is working properly. and as wankel7 stated, your system is pressurized

cool beans. i can sleep now. i guess i should have stated that i am checking this after fully operating temperture.
