9 grand without the cost of the car?.....hmm......with 9 grand u have alot of possiblities ....depending on what year u get.....i would go for the 87-88 T2.....then do a full tune up, oil, air, fuel filter, plugs, new wires, pads, rotors, walbro fuel pump and get urself a RB turbo back...get the Rtek 1.7 and 2x720cc for the secondary...and u'll still have plenty of money left over for other goodies.....god..i wish i have 9 grand to spend on my FC.....

oh **** me too..i'd have enough for a paint job too.
I'd do all the tune up, oil, air, fuel, plugs, wires, brake pads, rotors, ss lines, then do fuel pump, FCD, full exaust, intake, radiator, intercooler, get an rtek and 4x 720's with an SAFC, mbc, some dyno time with a tuner...the list goes on my friend.

What do you want the car to do? that is the first question to answer.

Looking at your sig, is that 9k in USD or Pounds?

If you want hp, buy the car with the best body and interior, engine doesn't matter as long as it is rebuidable. Then start looking at what others have done and their hp #'s. Upgrade from there.

If you want a car for autocross or road course then the body will be of less importanceand the interior will be gone. Then you want to a decent engine, drivetrain and upgrade those along with the suspension.

If you want a daily driver, that is streetable, and not a hp monster, find a target hp # and then see what has been done by others to get you there.

With 9k, I could have my first and second gen put into mint condition, each with over 200hp.

But that is doing the work myself.
