upgrading brakes

Hey guys, I've got a base 87 model and I'm looking to upgrade my brakes in the future. I know that the 5 lug models have 2 piston calipers n all, would I be able to just grab the calipers then get an aftermarket set of 4 lug rotors n some pads? Or would I need to grab the whole 5 lug system? I was considering doing the 5 lug swap but I found the rims I want in 4 lug also so I figure i'd just work with what I got if I can.
Thanx

No that is incorrect. Not all 5 lug models had 4 piston brakes... some had single piston brakes- just the same as the 4 lug ones.

No models had 2 piston brakes.

You would have to swap the whole thing to 5 lug.

Take the wheel off and count the pistons on the caliper.

if you're lucky you peek through the rims or behind them...if there's 4 "bulges" you got urself a 4 piston caliper =D and the 1 piston caliper has a large "bulge" on one side of the calipers (outside or inside I can't remember) with a small "hump" on the other side.
