Question Upgraded Sway Bars + Manual Rack = Death?

Has anyone done this to their manual rack FC? That is, installed aftermarket sway bars in an attempt to seek out better handling. I recently started considering it but when i ran it across a friend of mine to see what he thought, he didn't think it would be a very good idea; stating that the first bump you hit going around a corner will rip the steering wheel out of your hands.

So again, has anyone done this? Opinions either way?

upgrading the sway bars will affect the vertical movement of the wheels. The wheels are already tied together on the vertical axis by the a very inflexible link, the steering rack. The stiffer bars will do no more to rip the wheel from your hands as it does now. and anyway, I thought the RX7 diminished the power-assist at speed.

Wow. I really wasn't expecting this kind of feedback. I hope he doesn't see this :/ Buying new swaybars it is then. Can't wait, gotta get the current **** the car is going through out of the way first though.

So on the topic of handling improvements, How do you all feel about strut tower bars/braces? Front and rear packages? Been thinking of buying a set of those as well as the sway bars for a nice upgrade package, but as you can see from the thread I've had mixed answers about both.

I can't speak to the rear [it'd kill me to cut the towers/carpet] but the front was very noticeable. I'd highly recommend it, even if it's a crummy, cheap bar [mine certainly is].
