Update on the TII s5 project

I just wanted to keep everyone up to date on the happenings of the 89 TII that I'm rebuilding. I took nine pics, but only two turned out, then the quality sucks on them too, so I have to take more tomorrow.

This is one of the subframe and the underside of the drivers side suspension.

This one is the shot of the transmission housing and the driveshaft area from the front of the car. Yes, the rear subframe is epoxy coated too.

Thanks. I've given a ton of time and effort in the last few months to get this the way that I want it.

Yeah, that's basically what happened to mine. The rest of the car was immaculate...then you opened up the hood. So when the engine blew...I decided that was my opportunity to get the job done right. The TII hasn't been on the road in some time now...but I have a 95 R2 to keep me satisfied. I can't wait till they both roll together...soon.

Very nice! One thing about the epoxy coating though: water tends to get underneath the epoxy and stay there, rusting the metal underneath. The result is an area that is only held together by the epoxy itself. It's probably a good idea to check the epoxy every week or so for signs of cracking, and replace any damaged areas immediately. It may not start for a few years, but sooner or later it will happen. FWIW, this is a major problem on DeLoreans sine they have a very thin steel frame, coated with epoxy.

Thanks for the info. I don't think anything will happen to it. I don't drive the car that much, but now that I know that...I'll have to keep an eye open for that. Thanks.
