Update on My newest purchase..
Well about 2 months ago I picked up this car, and boy was it a weird duck....
1991 coupe, but loaded up with accessories... It also sported a Standalone fuel control (wolf3d) mated to a rebuilt and ported TURBO engine (4 port) but utilized 6 port N/A manifolds, and a racing beat header bolted to a 3 inch exhaust. The car has a great interior and teh body is nearly mint. It has a set of S5 T2 wheels, and some unknown aftermarket mufflers...
Well After attempting to tune the Standalone and realizing that I was in way over my head I decided to put the car back to "stockish"...
Here is what I have done over the past month....
Pulled out the standalone completely, and sourced and replaced a s5 T2 harness, ecu, MAF, and various sensors.. The Wiring harness I bought ended up being competely cut in half so I had to rewire teh entire harness. Also the car was utilizing S4 T2 injectors so I had to splice in s5 injector clips.
Also for the standalone and ignition system they were runnign the OEM coils were modified and cut along with the CAS. These were all rewired and I ended up just replacing the CAS with another I had laying around.
I was debating installing my rebuilt S5 turbo while I had teh engine apart but have decided to wait untill I have driven the car a while and test the longitivity of the engine.. ( I am unsure as to what the internals are..)
So While it was apart I decided that I would prepare for the impending turbo swap by completely restoring my s5 turbo manifolds, cleaning the engine bay and buying the 2751eng blockoff kit...
The s5 N/A manifolds were already blocked off so that was ok. So when I do get ready to install the manifolds and turbo the car will look like new...
I also purchased new mufflers, a cd player and some new springs to go along with the strut bars and sway bars that racing beat provided.. (at a price)..
This car has 101,000 miles and is almost perfect. It has 1 door ding and that is it... I will have the door ding fixed....
So far I have put 18 hours into the build on this beauty and haven't got around to detailing it yet.. Can't wait to show you guys all my hard work..
