unknown switches in center switch panel

Hi all,

Need the collective help.

in my 1991 Rx7, on the center panel, there is the obvious controls for the driver and passenger mirrors, but then there are two other switches.

on the left side of the panel is a toggle switch with a blue light when on, the other is a toggle switch on the right side of the panel that has the picture of a mirror and a line with three dashes through it going down. Im guessing that one is mirror defroster?!? not sure. I dont know if the panel is stock or not, cant find anything about it in the Haynes manual or online.

if anyone could help me figure out what they do, that would help a lot. I have tried switching both of them and cant see anything changing or moving or anything.

sorry i dont have a photo right now, but tomorrow i can get one.
Thanks a lot

The optional factory switches in the console would be for fog lamps and adjustable suspension (AAS).

The switch in question sounds like they are aftermarket, so I listed every center console switch used in a FC as follows:

Convertible Headrest Audio Switches (left), Fog Light Switch & Alarm Light (middle), mirror switches (right):

S5 Convertible Top Switch (Fits where the Fog light & Alarm light goes)

Auto Adjusting Suspension Switch (fits where the Vert headrest Audio switches go):

All of the lighting inside the car, minus the map & dome lights is Orange-Red from the factory. I believe your mirror defroster switch was from an aftermarket conversion. Could you get a picture of the switch? I'm definitely interested in seeing how it fits.

Didn't subscribe

Hey, thanks for all the help, I guess I unsubscribed or something to the thread and didn't realize I had any replies.

I know now that the one I thought was for mirror defrosters, is the lowest lights on the front of the car, fog lights.

I'll take a photo of that switch I was talking about. I've turned it on before and nothing seems to be different when it's on or off.

Here is the photo of the switch. You can't see it but the light is blue. And it is on. This is all the info I have.

Just a random toggle switch. Pull it out and see where the wires go. Clearly not factory

Have you ever turned it off?
My guesses would be fuel pump cutoff, electric fan, aftermarket amplifier for the stereo, or maybe for the power antenna
Or another set Of driving lights/lights somewhere?

Yeah, I turn it off all the time. Sometimes I start the car with it off and sometimes on. So not fuel cutoff switch. I plan to pull it out sometime, just thought someone might know if that was a popular spot to put a switch at. Thank you

From the looks of the shift boot I'm guessing it operates the disco ball.

Yeah about that. It's one of the things I'm changing. The previous owner loved his crushed red velvet crap. I just received my oem boot today, so thats one less horrible red crushed velvet to look at. Next: indoor mirror covers and door frame material and I'm rid of that.
