Unknown plug and other questions...

OK, on my '88 S4 turbo II there is a black plug coming off of the back of my water neck that goes to a sensor. I beleive its the water thermoswitch that is connected to the small electric fan in front of the radiator?

It's hanging down behind the belts and I have no idea where the other end of it goes to. Any clues on where I might find the other end?

Also, the car has 2 weak sparks both on the front rotor. 1 leading and 1 trailing spark seem really weak. Im using a spark tester that goes inbetween the plug and the wire and lights up when there's spark. It's dim only on the 2 front plugs. The 2 rear plugs fire much brighter.

Could this be due to bad compression at all?

Im new to rotary engines and they do some weird things from what ive been reading on here when there's low compression.

And one last question, for now anyways.
There's a hose up behind the oil fill tube, not right behind it but a towards the back of the engine. I removed it because it had no clamp holding the bottom of it on, and when I did there was oil in it. Not filled with oil, but if turned some would come out of it.
I read somewhere when searching that a vacuum line hooked up wrong can cause the OMP to pump oil into the UIM.
Any idea's?

I'll post pictures of the parts im talking about later today.

Thanks for any help

Also, I have a Translator Pro that is still brand new in its box with everything for it. It was in a car we are lean selling.

Is this to complicated of a system for a beginner like myself to use for MAF/Fuel controlling? And will it work on an '88 turbo II?
It seems like a really neat controller and would be quite useful when I start to really upgrade the car. The link tells about what it does/can do and the removing the barn door and replacing it with either a GM MAP or MAF is really making me want to use it

Anybody ever use one that can give me some feedback on how well it works?
