Unique Turbo car?
We just purchsed a very good condition RX turbo car.
The build date is 4/86.
Did they make RX7 turbo cars in 1986?
It also has some odd factory stickers, that the orginal owner said were there, when he got it new.

I'll have a Coke!
that could be one of the first TII of the '87 model year, but i'm not sure because i don't have my build dates table with me. check the VIN, it should start with JM1FC33... a 1 after the 33 means it's an N/A a 2 means it's a TII. also the last letter in the VIN (not the last number) tells you what model year it was. '86 was G, and '87 was H.

Here is the VIN number. Maybe it is one of the first ones, maybe someone can look this vin number up and tell us if it is one of the first ones built.
It appears to be a promotional car for Mazda Championship Racing Series.

It has a sticker inside the panel of the rear, that says something about IMSA and GTU Championship Racing Division or something like that. I am not sure, if the IMSA is right, I am going from memory. It also has different years displayed and run around the crest with smaller years printed inside of it.
Its a cool sticker, never seen one before, and the old man said it came that way, new. When I mean old, he is 63, I guess he is not that old.
The really funny part is, it still has the factory plug wires on it.

most if not all fc's had this sticker from the factory. The years around the crest are the years that they won...pretty much every year, if I remember correctly...nice find though!

So, the Mazda Electronics Parts catalog that I use at work shows it is an 87 Turbo. I have no idea what the item under the MSC stands for.

That is 100% correct.
The car has a nice light grey interior. simpley flawless.
Awesome buy for $500.
It also had brand new tires with the little tities on them still.

My Turbo2 was $500 as well...the interior in mine is that nasty red color.....I was lucky enough to go to the junk yard and finding leather seats (front and rear)...got them for $10 a pop. So, even though it's redish...at least I have the leather!
Mine has pretty much everything, but no power steering (power everything else).
