Uninstalling a spoiler

Hey I need some help on how to remove a spoiler. I found one at a junk yard for cheap. How do I get the bolts off and where are the bolts. Please help going to the junk yard tomorrow.
Thanks, Ed

There are two screws and a few bolts. The nut on the bolts come off on the inside. Just pull off the carpeting on the sides of the trunk. You'll find them.

yeah I don't know if there is a difference but in my 89 the bolts are really hard to get to, there are some plates that you gotta stick the wrench through. If I remember right the bolts are 10mm

but in my friends 87T2 that didnt come with a spoiler and there were no plates in the way

spoiler uninstall

You will need small hands and a really flexible wrist to get at the 10 mm bolts. You will also need a mirror to find them or have to feel around blindly inside the rear body panel. Also, if there is any rust at all on them they may twist and break out the theaded nut that is embedded in the foam on the mounting surface of the spoiler. You will then need to epoxy something back in. The phillips head screws on the edge of the rear hatch should come out OK, unless the slotted x is rusted- then you will probably have to work at it with pliers or a hacksaw blade. Good luck- I just went through this about a month ago to repair a crack in the spoiler where some idiot leaned on the spoiler and cracked it.
