Under drive alt pullie FAQ.

i just figured sence im looking at buying one why not start an FAQ on it,

if i get an a underdrive pully will my stero system (650watt amp and 52x4amp headunit) drain my battery too quickely and leave me stranded?
because i know it makes the alt turn slower. but i dont currently have any battery problems, i know theres probly alot of people who would like to also know from people that have the U/D pullies on their alt's.

It all depends on your alternator, battery and wiring. I've heard of people having no problems and other people have a horrorable experience. I personally have underdrive pullies but I'm still debating if I should put it in. Also because I'm a lazy bastard. I work on cars enough at work, but when I get home.. last thing I want to do is wrench on my 7. I sugguest if you're going to do underdrive, get a higher amp alternator, redo your wiring, and get a new battery. Also, I'm planning on installing those 'new' (in vehicle) chargers using an outlet so I can charge my battery easier. Also, If you want to know if you're going to have charging issues, you need to install a voltmeter and monitor when your voltage goes down. I have one in my car and I think I'm alternator is going out. If you have any more questions.. please use the search button as this topic has been covered before.

Why don't you get a voltmeter install and find out? The underdrive pulley affects voltage the most at idle - at driving speeds (i.e. over 2kRPM), it's basically the same as stock.
