UIM manifold trouble
It wont seperate from the LIM, the TB and all is still attached. Im reading the haynes manual and its not telling me everything i need to know. I took the 5 bolts off connecting the LIM to the UIM, loosened the bolt that secures the TB intake pipe to the motor, deisconected the omp stick... what am i missing after i removed tha main nuts from the actual mani i tried to pull it up and it wont seperate, i tried to use a screw driver to pry it up and it just seems to be ****** up the manifold... what do i need to do??

lol.. look it over and triple check that nothing else is holding it down. It would help if you told us what year and type of car you had, so we can maybe identify a bolt or two that are easy to miss when taking the manifolds off.

There are four nuts on the outside of the UIMand a bolt that goes down through the middle.... also, there is a hold down bolt over on the end of the t-body attached to the vac-rac bracket. You take those off an it should separate. IF someone put gasket sealant on the gasket or used RTV on it... it can be a real bitch to get off.
there is also the damn water hose that connects form the t-body to the motor.. but you should still be able to seperate the UIM from the LIM with it attached.
If ALL the nuts and bolts are off (4 nuts and one bolt on the left at the LIM and one at the vac-rac. you can take a putty knife and wedge it between the UIM and LIM and tap it in with a mallett but be careful you don't gouge the mating surfaces

Ahhhhh, now we sense from whench the stench came!!!!!! If you gouged it up... just file off the rough edges (use a razor blade if possible to peel the metal off so that its even with the surface) then put some RTV on the gouges before you mate 'em together again.
Having a gouge near the edge will not hurt it, however, it does need to be FLAT, anything stick up will cause the surfaces not to mate correctly.
