Uh... am I missing any plates on my throttle body??? S5 N/A
Took my TPS off today, so that means yankin the TB off.
I take it off (first time doing so) and look at the rear end... and it has a bar going across the primary chambers... except there are no plates in it. Is this how its supposed to be?
I'm attaching a video clip.
Its in Divx 5.02 and 850KB
I couldnt take any pics because my camera is a POS and doesnt focus within 3 ft.

Thats what people do when they do the throttle body mod. Looks like someone half-assed it. Your supposed to take the bar out, plug the holes with something so the engine isn't pulling in unmetered air, and take off the vacuum diaphram. The diaphram is for when you let you foot off the gas. It slowly closes the throttle plates instead of letting them slam shut. People do this mod cause it give a more crisp feeling throttle response.

Ok, I took the bar out, and the linkage to the diaphram. So its ok to just leave the diaphram there? Should I plug it up or connect the hose as normal?
I thought the "Throttle body mod" was just taking a dremel to the edges of the TB to make a crisper "impact zone"
And NZConvert... I couldn't see how in the hell I could have reached that phillips screw without taking the TB off. Plus I wanted to do it anyways to learn. No harm done
I'm glad I found out about the bar though.. its now off
It did have ALOT of side to side play....

Ah ****.
Just read the FC3S Pro site.. I really don't want to do all that ****. **** **** ****.
So by taking that bar out.. I'm letting in un-metered air. Great.
I don't have any taps or anything either.
Looks like its going back in for a few days. This car is daily driven.. and hasn't fuckedup yet. (now that I have jynxed it)

And that's what stubby screwdrivers are for.

I found some bolts with a flanged head that sat in the hole perfectly. (They are all over the car and I had some extra ones after doing a some mods) I JB welded them in place. I heard tell of them popping out under boost, but my car is N/A and I haven't had any problems.

It took a long time for the JB weld to harden to where I could handle the TB without the bolts falling out. I couldn't put the bolts in sideways and try to seal them in, I had to sit the TB on its side on a table and have the bolts pointing straight down and let the JB weld cure like that, then do the other side.
