Ugh... She says I'm not "delivering"

Okay, so I took my car into a shop by my house to get emissions work done. Well I found out that it was running full fuel all the time, I dont understand a whole lot of the fuel system (very willing to learn) but I do know that he played with the 3 screws (pass. fender, idle thing, topside intake mani.) and it ran better (i guess) but it would sometimes like... cut out or die on me, so i felt motivated to play with it myself to where it wouldn't die. well i didn't write down what I did (big mistake) and later to find out my alternator was bad hahaha so basically what im asking is what should i be doing with these? is there any kind of write up on how to do it professionally? because now i have a hell of a time getting it to start. and when i do get it to start... well... see pic.

Does that exhaust smell like gas or like sweet cake?

Looks like your engine may need a rebuild unless you're running really rich

with the exhaust, from personal experience, you don't have a cat i suppose, and you started up the car and it died several times on you didn't it

in that case, that is the exhaust you'll see (if you leave her overnight and ****)you're engine is just full of gas, shouldn't need a rebuild unless it smells good, then you're fucked

about the screws.............uh.........-.-
