U-shape coolnt hose replacement: availability/alternate
U-shape coolnt hose replacement: availability/alternate
Want to replace a 3/8" (or close) U-shaped coolant hose (preset bends). Hose is near firewall and connects approx 2" from primary fuel rail (bottom) and to the air intake chamber(top).
Looks like this:

Called two places....don't carry it. Closest they have is an "L" shaped hose.
Is it out there at another autoparts store?
Alternatives? (ie connect 2 "L"s with a coupling)
Just use the "L" shape and bend it?
Buy it from dealer?
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Autoparts stores will at least have some generic hoses where you can bend them to fit. As long as the walls of the hoses are thick enough or close to the OEM part, there shouldn't be a problem. Does anybody see a problem with using a hose that was made for fuel, as long as it can take the temp?

Yes...Beautiful!!! Thanks turboIIrex!
13-680A-N326 is it. Has the outer shielding on it too.
Not sure what's gonna be cheaper or faster or better. 1) Buy from Madatrix or 2)dealer? or 3)Bend generic ?
Any recommendations now that we've pinpointed the part?
ps. Am a Texas Alum...Hook em' (Austin)

Mazdatrix and dealer will probably be the same, except dealer won't have a shipping charge. If you can take the 3-4 day wait (if dealer has to order), I wouldn't go the generic route b/c of the high heat back there. Generic is cheaper, but I don't think it's worth it the couple bucks.

no brainer.
