u-joint

because that is the only way to replace the u-joint is to replace the drive shaft, all rx's from 83-up are like that. You can get aftermarket shafts with replaceable u-joints but that is the only way you're going to be able to replace just the joint. Try calling an auto wrecker or someone that deals in used parts, used driveshafts are relatively
cheap and take about 10 min to replace
