u joint

ok i have a problem i need a u joint replaced on my 87 5 speed se. I emailed banzai racing and they said the u joint i am referring to is not replaceable i need to buy a whole new drive shaft. I need to know if what he said is correct. If not i need to know where another u joint is located. Also if he is right then is it difficult to install a new driveshaft and how much will a new one run me.

peace red

He is right. But there is a way around it

Rockforddrivline.com

He has the correct u-joint replacement and tech support to show you how to replace it. The put a tack weld in to hold the u-joint in place. you need to grind out the weld and then use clips provided with the new u-joints from Rockford.

Or I can sell you a used driveshaft for $50 + shipping, that is in great condition. Then it is just a matter of swapping your driveshaft, which is a matter of removing 4 bolts on your diff and loosening your exhaust system to get it by.

That's a good price The new U-joints will cost you $54 with shipping, and then you have to do the swap.
