Regardless of how it started, it's probably been changed in 21 years.

I know that but I am the 3rd owner of the car.. I bought it from the second owner and the first was his father.. he said it was completly stock except for the radio and speakers..

not only that but the cruise control was a factory install piece I mean it had to be it has the right cluster surround etc. I have been told from others that my car could have been a piece car

just put together with available pieces

Not too many '88 GTU cars have aluminum hoods, which may explain more of the extra weight vs. the '86-87 Sport. My title says the car's curb weight is 2720, not sure where they got that info from though...

The problems weren't that it cools improperly.. the problems were that if incorrectly bled, it cools improperly. its much easier to mess that up.

Also.. 2650 isn't much lighter than a fully loaded S5 NA.

Simple solution... bleed/fill it properly.

The AC Sunroof and Power Mirrors are all in the luxury package, everything else is like a base model.

Having owned both a low mileage '87.5 Sport and '91 NA Coupe, I can honestly say that the weight difference is noticeable in everyday driving. However, the S5 engine is infinitely more refined. Not to mention the modern looks of an S5 by comparison.

I've owned a couple 91NA's, and an 86 base. The base was light as hell, but it also had less hp than the 91.. And, I would personally rather have a slower car with power everything, than a light as hell car with decent power that annoyed me to drive. I bought an NA. I'm not trying to win any power competitions. If I wanted fast, I would have bought a TII.

I drive my NA because I enjoy the car... it fits me well, its fun to drive, handles well, its reliable, and it looks good. Even a 3000lb convertible can say the same.
