Two Light TPS Adj...am i doing it wrong?
Two Light TPS Adj...am i doing it wrong?
i used the two light method, and it says that if both light up then turn clockwise, and i rotated the hell out of that thing clockwise until i was in danger of compromising the structural integrity of the snap-on screwdriver, and it was still reading both lights. Am i doing this wrong or is my TPS screwed?
do it with an OHM Meter. Warm up the car, then put the ohm meter on the two wires and it should be 1 at idle and 5 at full...or the other way around...i forget...but the magic numbers are 1 and 5.

I use a multimeter and measure resistance in ohms. Stick one lead into the green wire and one into the black, they should be above/below each other depending which way you have the connector. Anyways adjust it to 1k ohms after it's warmed up.
The two LED's should work for you. Make SURE the engine is HOT before doing it. The throttle linkage moves as the engine cools down or warms up. The procedure is for a HOT engine.
Try turning the screw anti clockwise til it almost falls out. Then with the key ON, turn the screw clockwise til one light comes on.......then turn more til the other light comes on......then turn anti clockwise til only one light comes on.
If both lights come on all the time, I'd suggest a scrogged tps or a unwanted ground on the lower two wires on the tps connector.
