Two days from another 7 in my life...it's been a while...
Yep, this Saturday, I'm flying out to Ohio from Boston to pick up my next 7! I had an 88 GXL throughout most of high school and college. It had issues...lots of them.
I'm about to get an 87 GXL, with only 50,000 original miles, and from the original owner. The engine was replaced about 6,000 miles ago (spark plug ceramic broke off into chamber). At that time, he replaced the clutch, exhaust, and AC compressor. Tires are also fairly new, and he replaced the electroniclly adjustable struts with regular ones.
Getting it for a good price, too! I'm so phsyched. From the video I saw, it's in like-new condition aesthetically, with a few dings on the doors (as is expected when it's 16 years old). The only mechanical problem is the heater control valve, which doesn't seem like too big an issue.
So yeah, just wanted to share. I love new toys, and I loved my old 7! I just hope I have enough sense to keep this car stock, since it's remained that way, and in such good condition, for so long!
