Yea, that auto in the FC makes the car an absolute slug. No offense or anything, but the 1st thing that I would do if I had an auto FC , is do a 5-speed swap. You might want to change the rear end also, to get rid of the 3.909 gearing.

if you do it yourself it would be the cost of a tranny, plus the stuff that goes along with the tranny, flywheel....etc etc

Whoops. Thought you said you won't go faster with a 5 speed.

Yes, unfortunately, the automatic is very hindering.

And of course the forum goes out on me in the middle of editing.

... porting, standalone EMS, lighten the car. You can also upgrade the car's handling with suspension mods, tires, brakes, wheels, etc.

Even better:
Supercharger
Turbocharger
13BT, 13B-REW, 20B-REW engine swap.

The AT is more of a liability than a limitation. You need to think outside the gearbox.

Becareful,

The autotranny swap isn't as easy to do it youself

The Auto tranny and Manual have different connectors, and so you'll have to compensate for this problem.

I know because I did the swap. Which might be why I want to KILL! KILL ! KILL! my rx right now.

hmm, i think ill bust out the money and have a shop custom beef it up, even if it dont speed it up, atleast i wouldnt break anything if i start making lots of power. My advice to everyone i, make sure your tranny can take the mods b4 you do them .!

Oh and one more thing.

Since I did the swap everyone said that the geer ratios made a huge difference in the rear end.

So I also swapped out the Differential. And you know what!?

No noticable change
