Turning a sunroof into a hardtop

Akright, so I'm not happy with the fact that TII's only came with sunroofs, so I'm gonna turn it into a hardtop. So uhhhhhh, how can I do it? I've got the sunroof out of the car at this point, and I've got some sheetmetal lying around.

I am currently doing this to my TII. I plan on using the original sunroof metal, that way the roof retains its curve and look.

Well, I would assume that you would remove the current sunroof in the car. Take some sheetmetal (not sure of what gauge) and size it up. Then tack it in place make sure it fits good then weld it in, grind and paint.

Or do as stated above and use the original metal from the sunroof as that would make the job easier.

okay this is a crazy idea pull off the sunroof and then pull out the weatherstripping and then bolt it back in place. Now use a welder and carefully either tig it or mig it very slowly in place. DO MAINLY SPOT WELDS! otherwise you will end up warping the roof. When your done unbolt the welded roof from the sunroof tracks and then unbolt the sunroof track from the roof (leaving the welded roof in place).
and you have a curved roof that looks flush if it's done properly

I don't remember if you can get away with this idea but I think it might work. You might have to end up cutting the roof tracks up to do this clean.

OK, so it looks like I'll definitely need a welder. My friend suggested I could rivet it, which would probably look awful when done. I like the idea of using the original roof rather than new sheetmetal.

But then I won't have a turbo, and furthermore, I hate modding super-rare cars
