turning over but no go
I think El Caminos are badass... and hey.... your a mexican right? LOL
After i did my block off plates... aka.. tore my engine apart and then rebuilt it.... i couldn't get it to start for the life of me. I tried all the above mentioned de-flooding procedures.. nothing worked. NOTHING... then... a buddy talked me into the last ditch effort of dumping almost a full quart of ATF into my housings via the leading plug holes. To my amazement... the car started. It was like a miracle drug for a non starting rotary.... it smoked like a ***** on crack for the next 20 minutes... but it got her started and running, and she still runs strong. I'm not saying i understand or recommend this procedure... its just my story... so don't flame me, ______ thanks!

HAHA I just did the pull start. ok so heres the update, if anyone reads this please give feedback. I pulled it behind that gas hog el camino today, let off the clutch and it would fire up, i push clutch in rev it to about 4k and held it all the way till i got towed back home, and sat in our drivewau for about 8 minutes holding it around 3.5 and 4k burnin the oil that i had put in the spark holes.
This is what is upsetting me, my car is running REALLY rough, im sure this could be due to the oil added in the spark holes plus the starter fluid sprayed in the intake that proboblly has been sitting in the motor...but after 10 minutes of running with me holding it when i bring it down to 1800 it sounds like its going to die, my brother brought it to my attention that i was shooting sparks, i was like WTF ? at 4k? so i leaned over to look under the car and MY HEADERS ARE MOLTEN RED! ive never had this happen and this worries me. is this a normal thing that would happen after all the processes i have done? or is there something more that could be going on. My temp guage reads normal temps. I put it in gear and rolled it down the driveway, and put my foot on the brake and it stalled out. after untying the tow rope i decided ehh why not ill try and start it real quick...so i hop in the car turn the key and it was turnin over rough, i gave just a tad bit of gas and it started right up...
So #1 im happy my car ran
and #2 is it safe to drive providing what i just said.
Thanks for your guys help all this time i appreciate it all.

ok drove the car to my apartment...car will start with the help of a little gas, but you have to keep your foot on the gas at all times to keep the rpm up, if you try to let it idle, it will die out on you even if going 40 down the road, and in 5th....now a new issue my effin brakes dont work i think its leaking around the reservoir...one thing after another....thats an ez fix though.....
funny, when my fc pop an apex seal the same thing happen to my headers.they would turn red hot after just running it for about 5 minutes. i guess double check for compression again!
good luck , i know how you feel . im the king of flooding rx7!!!

Do a compression test: http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/blown.htm
I've also seen this caused by an injector that it sticking open.

Red hot headers typically means one of 3 things, your problem is the first one I would almost guerentee you.
1. Lean condition. You removed the intakes right? bet it is leaking like a SOB.
2. You are under heavy boost and exhaust temps are way up there for an extended period of time.
3. Timing

no to the spark wires....The only thing i havent taken apart are injectors, and i do not know how old they are either. I think that is the next step maybe getting them cleaned or replaced. So a "stuck" injector can cause hot headers, could a stuck injector or leaking injector also be the culprit behind the flooding issue this thread started with?
how would timing get off? by moving the car from one spot to the next?
ill compression check again that is easy smeezy.

JESUS EFFIN CHRIST I THINK I FIXED IT! I did forget to plug in a hose on the back of the intake! just checked that plugged it in and as i am typing this my rx7 is purring happily outside! WARMING up so that it doest flood again
I hope this fixes the problems and i still need to do my brakes before i can drive it but it feels good to have her runnin again.
I dont know if there is a reason for it, or if it could be explained. But aaron said that a vacuum leak could make it run rich, meaning extra fuel right? could it have been that i was re flooding my car every time i unflooded and tried to start the car again?
I want to say thanks to everyone that helped on this thread, i have learned ALOT from the help you guys gave, and appreciate all the advice. THANK YOU! and ill keep ya posted on how it is doin
