TurboII Tranny and Diff Questions.

Hi,

I am looking at adding a Turbo II tranny and Diff/Axles to my 1990 Mazda Miata. I know that I am going to have to fabricate an adapter plate for the tranny and front mount for the diff (The ears bolt into the Rear subframe on my car), but I have some questions about the drivetrain parts and was hoping you could help me out..

The Miata drivetrain is a weak link and I am having to limit my power currently due to this..

Question 1 : Does the TurboII Clutch slave bolt to the Tranny or the Motor (On the Miata is bolts to the motor)

Question 2 : Does anyone have any pictures of the above ....

Question 3 : How much power can a TurboII Tranny take.. I have been told 500-600hp, but I want to confirm.

Question 4 : What year Turbo cars/models came with the LSD Carrier? Is it a Torsen or Clutch type LSD.

Question 5 : Is 4.10 rear ratio installed in stock TurboII cars.

I think that is about it.. I'm looking at removing my Miata 7" Rear with KAAZ LSD as I just don't want to destroy it and I know I am on the edge...

Thanks for your help..

Marc:
1. Slave bolts to tranny
2. Not me
3. 450 HP is a reasonable limit
4. All TII had LSD
s4 (86-88) had Clutch type
S5 (89-91) had Vicous Type
5. Yes, 4.3 is available from MAZDACOMP, Racing Beat and Mazdatrix.

Thanks for the info.. My Miata tranny is taking 415hp, but it is on the edge.. I was under the impression the FC stuff was a lot stronger...

What are some of the sub 10 second FCs using for Trannies, Diffs and Axles?
