TurboII parts car

I found a local wrecking company that's willing to let me have a wrecked turboII parts car for $1800. Is that a good deal or should i be asking for less? I need it to convert my 87 GXL. he says the engine was installed a year ago and the drivetrain is good. I really think he's asking too much for that car.

WAY too damn much

you can probably find one thats NOT wrecked for that price, seriously, i would tell him to come down about half that much, before you touch it, or.. heh.. just pull the parts you need, it maybe less than 1800, i know the local j yard around here charges just a few hundred for the complete engine and about the same for the transmission, i found a rear end for 100 bucks here that looked good. All in all, 1800 is WAY too much for a wrecked car, period. Keep looking man, im sure you can find something out there.

hey Mr. Importguy, thats a great plan, nothing gets you more familiar with your car than bringing it back up to good shape, esp that inexpensive. i would just make sure that your first car was in good operating condition, nothing is more frustrating than trying to "fix up" a car that you have to spend more hrs under the hood getting to just run, much less run faster, good luck man

I will sell you a running T2 w/ a straight body for $1800. You should be able to get a parts car for less.

I payed $850 for my T2. Has minor body damage and the leather seats are fucked. I drove it home. Runs well other than a oil leak at the turbo.

Did I mention that its a 10th Anniversary Edition
