What's up guys,
I have an 88 N/A with a turbohood. During car washes, it has stalled on me twice. After 15 minutes or so, it starts up again. Once was a hand car wash and the other time mechanical car wash. Now its obvious something is getting wet, but what?
Also, what do you guys recommend for preventing this? Any ideas? I like the look of the hood, but don't wanna keep goin through this everytime I get it washed.

Wow I've sprayed water on my engine while it was running and it didnt turn off lol...

maybe the tps?

 

Hmmmm....If your going thru a car wash, id recommend turning the car off while the car is getting washed (some washes have like a conveyor system while others just have u pull up to a specific spot)....In either case, u can shut the car down while its being cleaned. But i guess u would run the risk of not being able to start up again after the wash cycle ends.....

 

i have to be a ***** wrinkle and say it turned off because you are one of "those people" with a turbo hood on a non-turbo car..... the reason i get asked if my turbo car is turbo... its punishment chuckle. serves ya right.. p.s. my car doesnt run at all so some of the time for you is better than none.. post whored..

haha im just kidding,, but yeah shut your car off if your not.. you wouldnt hose down/detail your engine bay with your car running would you?

 

Hey i have s5 taillights on my s4.. No one asks me if its an s5. Because Unless you are an rx7 Guru Noone would have the slightest idea what gos on what car

That's not the reason. My car acts up after a car wash from a automatic wash. I have a 88 vert with the original hood. It's something in his bay getting wet from water sprayed underneath the car.



Just wash the car by hand and see how it does. I started doing this and the car seems better.
