Turbocharger question on T2?
Is it ok if a turbocharger spins freely when I turn it and it doesn't rub anywhere or anything but when i kind of try to move the rotor back and forth a little bit, It moves maybe a milimeter or something like that? It kind of has a little play.
Is it a busted turbocharger or is it gonna work??

A millimeter might be a little much, but as long as it doesn't touch the sides when you try to push it againt one side and turn it, and as long as there is no axial play (in and out) it should be ok.
I have a replacement turbo for my TII, as I thought that I had too much play, but as I am getting full boost (actually too much boost as the fuel cut comes into play since I titted a bleed valve ~ 10psi) and there is no apparent smoke from the turbo bearings) I will hang onto the replacement until I need it.
