turbo2 troubleshoot fiesta!

S4 T2
3in straight exhaust
K&N intake
Rtek
Walbro255 with 550/720 and FPR
Stock IC
Streetported jdm 13b
Emissions/omp delete (BAC also)

Just bought this project and trying to learn my way through it...problem is I don't know how well everything was done originally.

Problems: will crank but won't idle unless I help it, but then backfires (lean!) In hopes that I would find a simple vacuum leak I removed the IC and TB but it looks like the emissions we removed properly. Could faulty wiring be the cause? Some wires are pretty bad looking and I am going to re wrap a couple injector wires and other ones and put it back together. If it still behaves poorly when I put it back together what are some suggestions? Part of me wants to megasquirt...but I would love to get her on the road if possible! Currently studying vacuum and wiring diagrams and haven't looked up much on timing adjustments and tps but weigh in on some opinions if you want and I might buy you a beer!

Haven't checked compression but I was told it's good....ordering a wideband tonight so I can actually read the afrs

I'm going to assume the thermowax was also removed off the throttle body.

if that's the case the car has no way to make it idle when cold... neither will a megasquirt without the BAC valve...

you can screw the idle screw in a bit to band-aid the problem, but it's going to idle pretty high when warm.
