turbo usdm vs jdm

turbo usdm vs jdm

I am in need of a rebuild for my s5 turbo engine. I was wondering if i used a j-spec engine as a core and got it rebuild i could use my usdm engine harness, ecu? I heard the jdm harness is different then the usdm which is why i am asking.

you can use the usdm s5 wiring harness and electronics, the only difference with a jspec harness is that it passes through the left side of the car because the drivers side is the right side in japan. and a us spec harness passes through the firewall on the right passenger side. if you use a jspec harness on a us car it's a stretch so i wouldn't recommend it. so to answer your question you can rebuild a jspec core and use all your us spec manifolds and ecu, wiring harness, etc. if you decide to use the jspec intake manifolds, they are different than the us style. they don't have the accelerated warm up **** and the line for the brake boost is in a different spot.
