They are usually car-specific if they come with a wiring harness to make installation easier.

Also, just in case you don't know, the stock RX-7 turbo is water-cooled. Therefore, there is no reason to install a turbo timer unless you drive in conditions such that you slam on the brakes and immediately park and jump out of the car after driving the engine at full boost. Most street and race driving conditions will allow the turbo to cool while the car is driven off-boost through the parking lot or paddock area. If you think about it, these cars are 20 years old and the turbos still work fine without a turbo timer. I suggest spending your money on something more worthwhile.

i don't know about generic turbo timers but they typically all work the same, you just need the appropriate wire harness for it.

Is there a reason why you need to have a TT? Your only running a S5 turbo. Unless you drive like a maniac and your oil temps are starting to faultier you know TT will give you no benefits.

Most of your cool down should be done just before coming to a stop, temps stabilize quicker when air passes through heat exchangers (ie radiator/Intercooler/oilcooler).

If you are looking into a generic one even id say save your money, i am sure you don't need it and you just want it for so umm "cool factor"?
