turbo sound

well i noticed that my turbo has a little play on the shaft and when i give it full or any boost its not a nice spooling sound it sounds more like shhhhhhh other than a nice smooth sound. is this just because the play on the shaft??

how much is a little play? just so everybody is using the same ruler to measure

a little play well here is the deal if you can move the shaft enough so the fins are anycloser to the compressor housing that 1.0mm then there is too much shaft play and you are most likely rubbing your compressor wheel against the compressor housing! Assuming a little mean ALOT OF A LITTLE!

you probably have an exhaust leak.

sounds like its mostly coming from the turbo. so i think its rubbing
