turbo rebuild

hey all

i just took my intake tract off to check the turbo play and such and it drags a little. so i want to rebuild it or send it out somewhere. and i searched that majestic turbo was a good place to send it. but what is the average price that people have been charged? i dont want to do and spend like 1 grand on a rebuild when i could just buy a new one.

who here has done a turbo rebuild, who did you get to do it

thanks

Sacker90 sent his to BNR for a rebuild, they do superb work. I think it was 300-400 bucks.

i was just about to ask about BNR too, it seems that majestics quality has gone down.

400 bucks seems like afair price, is BNR ok to deal with?

400$ IMO is not worth it. Spend the little extra and get yourself a t61 or something, a brand new one...

Heh, then again you'll need a new manifold, and wastegate...

While we're on the subject, how many MM's should your shaft play NOT exceed?

well for $675 i could get a BNR stage 1

that bolts up to the stock manifold right?

but then again, i just want it to work right and last. im not looking for max power. but then again the BNR stage 1 does port the wastegate and if it bolts right up then i should be good

As long as the wheel doesn't contact the housing you're fine. You don't want any axial play.

Huh? If you keep going you'll mess up the wheel and the compressor housing.

Would can either choose to upgrade or http://store.yahoo.com/cheapturbo/index.html. Its about 250 bucks for a basic rebuild.

would it be cheaper to send my turbo to BNR and have them upgrade it to a stage one, then buying a stage one from the rx7 store?
