turbo question for ya guys

alright i have a 88 turbo 2 i replaced the turbo today and was wondering my firend said befor i start "track" boosting that i should break in the turbo at least 750 ml is that true an what are the side effects

It's my opinion that there is little need to break in most turbos. They either use double-floating shaft bearings or a more pricey turbo will have ball bearings, either type should be good to go, just make sure the new turbo is primed with oil before startup (crank the engine with the EGI fuse pulled until oil pressure has registered on the gauge for at least 20 seconds) then plug the fuse in, start her up and look closely for leaks.
